Career change

I’m turning 50 soon and have always worked in retail. I’d love to retrain and find something that fulfils me but I really don’t know what to do. I don't want to spend years training, but really don't relish the next 15 years or so in retail.
If you could retrain what would you do.

Carpenter - random but I’d live to do something practical and physical with an option for being artistic like that.

Law. Being a (corporate?) solicitor would suit the way my mind works.

I don't fancy the training or the competition to get in, though.
