Consultation Advice

Looking for some advice heading into a possible consultation. I was told "off the record" that I am "at risk" and to expect to hear from Human Resources.

What questions should I be asking?
Do I have a legal right to know how many people are impacted and in which teams?

It would seem that they have been doing multiple rounds of redundancies in a short space of time, I'm thinking to potentially get around the longer consultation periods?

I have been with the company for more than 2 years. Sorry if this is garbled, I feel a little frazzled.

Multiple rounds of redundancy in a short space of time is not a way to get around the longer consultation periods. The question for those is how many are being made redundant in a 90-day period at a single establishment. If an employer makes 10 redundant today and another 10 redundant in 6 weeks, they must comply with the same consultation periods as if they had made all 20 redundant at the same time.

In the consultation they should tell you why they need to make redundancies, the number of employees and which jobs are at risk, how employees will be selected for redundancy and the timescales for the process. They should also tell you about your redundancy pay and your right to reasonable paid time off to search for a new job.

If you aren't clear on what they are saying or they haven't given any of the above information, ask. If you don't agree with their reasons for the redundancies, explain why. If you can think of another way of dealing with the issue such as reducing everyone's hours, put that forward. Don't be frightened to ask for things to be confirmed in writing.

Thanks @prh47bridge.
Received the dreaded news today.
I've added to my list of questions based on your advice.
There will be an initial meeting scheduled to answer my questions and hopefully set out those details (though I doubt it).
It seems like the decision has very much already been made :(
