Hello everyone, I have an interview next week for a Services Manager role (sort of!). I've been asked to talk for 5-10mins on what I'd do in the first six months of my role were I to get the job.
I've spent ages writing lists and notes and I'm starting to lose track of what I'd like to say- has anyone else had this question and, if so, how much detail did you go into? What type of things did you include?

I'd be really grateful for any exampels as I'm losing the plot a little and I"m very keen on this job. TIA

Wow hard question. If you have staff.
Workforce perception interviews with staff. What do they see needs improvement.
How can workforce engage more effectively and efficiently with day to day tasks/targets.
Some blah blah about the recent improvements in the company and how you see these benefiting the team you're going in to.

Aim for 8mins on practice as you'll talk quicker on the day and it be about 6 or 7 minutes.. Then ask if they have questions on your presentation.

Always say.. And to conclude (then go over main points again)

Thanks GisAFag, much appreciated.

I had this question but for the first 2 years in the role (and I had 5 mins to present it Hmm).

I think they key thing is what outcomes would you want to see after that time, then outline the main things you'd do to achieve them

Do you know what customers/service users think about the service? If now, how could you find out?

Agree with GisAFag re: staff perception too.

Pretend that you are talking to a group of friends who have asked you to tell them about the same subject as the presentation.

Its worked for me.

Good luck!

Sarah
