If you are logging on to their system then yes, your IP and location will be stored and be visable if they look. Not only that, but if you are supposed to be available for work then you should be available for work. If you are on annual leave you cannot be expected to attend unless you do a job where you are contractually obliged to cancel leave at short notice.

Yes, why did you lie?

Rainallnight · 07/08/2020 08:54

Yes, I know someone who did similar and got done for misconduct. Though I think work has reasons to be suspicious and therefore check the location IYSWIM

Basically yes.

Is it your machine you’re using or theirs?

Member869894 · 07/08/2020 08:57

Thanks for answering my question. The unsolicited advice wasn't required though. I'm aware of the legalities and my contractual obligations.

I’d say a technical issue or something has come up and you can’t log in!

Bluntness100 · 07/08/2020 13:22

Yup, cos lying even more is going to help...Confused

Are you attending virtually? Surely if they're expecting you in the meeting it will get mentioned you weren't there.
