Furlough holiday pay issue

Hi

Can any payroll savvy people help me?...

We have to take holiday whilst furloughed and my employer has told me which dates Etc.

I am currently receiving 80% of my salary. They have advised that any holidays the extra 20% will be paid on top of furlough wages.

I'm on 30K per annum and each annual leave day I am only receiving ~£16 before tax.

The way I work it is 30000/262 = £114 (daily rate)
20% of £114 is £22.80

I know it's not much of a difference but I've been made to take quite a few holiday days. Im afraid to ask anyone as I don't want to ruffle their feathers.

Thanks in advance.

They are probably using 365 as the dividing figure (16.43 would be your amount then) as I assume it’s an annualised salary per contract.

Hi Louise

Sorry to be stupid, what does annualised salary mean?

I've never come across it worked out like that before.

Your salary is paid for 365 days of the year not just week days.

OP read Todaythiscouldbe reply. That’s what it means.

@Todaythiscouldbe (not an expert) but does that mean the OP should expect that to be paid that for 7 days of each weeks holiday instead of 5?

I have no idea in relation to furlough how this would work. Usually you just receive your salary not an additional payment for holiday.

Thanks for your help guys, will just have to suck it up!

CJRS Furlough payments/claims were initially in days in each month before flexible furlough came in and so there is a logic to it
