Good interview- never heard back...

Hi all, I just wondered if this has happened to anyone else?

I had a really good interview nearly two weeks ago and then never heard from them again- not even to tell me that I hadn't got the job. I sent an email after a week and never received a reply.

It's fine that I clearly haven't got the job but I'm really shocked at the lack of contact. I recruited people in my previous role and I always contacted interviewed candidates to let them know the final decision- has this every happened to anyone else?

Yep. One specific Financial Services company is notorious for this. Put me right off them, even though they have since directly approached me for other roles more than once.

Yes, then they had the cheek to contact me about a different job a little while after. Without checking if it was even relevant (it wasnt).

Sadly this seems to be the norm these days - I've known people to go through multiple rounds of interviews, travelling long distances and giving up their time only to be met with tumbleweed. I've also known of people being verbally offered jobs only to be "ghosted" and have their calls unanswered. Pretty despicable behaviour in my opinion - I quick call or e-mail is very little to ask for.
