New Job in a Pandemic

I've recently graduated from university as a mature student and have landed my first job in the field which is office based. I start Friday and I'll be working around 40 hours a week but I'm expecting more due to the nature of the job.

It's a smallish company - around 45 employees, not all on site at any one time.

How are people who are back working in offices coping? I'm in Wales and the official advice is to work from home where possible but this isn't possible at the moment and I will need to be full time in the office.

Does anyone have any advice as to how to navigate integrating into a team and starting a brand new role in general, as well as office life tips during a pandemic?

Hope your first day is going well. My tips include popping out on your break and buying cakes for the office. Leave them near your desk - everyone comes for a cake and you get to meet everyone Grin

If you're buying cakes, I'd recommend individually wrapped items like mini rolls.
