Social Workers-what car do you drive?

Any social workers out there, I am starting a fast track social work programme in September and trying to sort out a car. I have a car to tide me over for now but know I'll need a new one soon.

I am aware that I'll need something reliable and that I'll rack up some miles driving to see families etc. I don't know if it's best to get a new car on PCP to have the piece of mind, or try and get a car that's around 5 years old and buy it outright or on HP.

Any tips/if you are a social worker what do you do about cars? Also what car do you drive and has it been reliable?

Thank you

Partner is a SW. They drive 130 miles a day in a 15 year old car and have a good relationship with the local garage!

Whatever car you like/ can afford/ fits your circumstances.

In my team there are drivers of Seat Ibiza, Mini Cooper, Ford Ranger, Audi A3, Toyota Yaris, Vauxhall Astra and a large number of Kia Sportage/Citroen Picasso, Nissan Quashqui owners.

If you are going to be working with children it's worth getting one that you can easily get a car seat into the back of (I.e. a 5 door) as you may be involved in transporting children to foster care etc.
