AIBU Employer changing my working days

Hi I currently work 18 hours over 3 days, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday. I have been working there for a year & the days the shop is open have always been Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
They have now decided they want to open more days and hours, so want me to work 32 hours temporarily for the next few weeks but still on the 18 hour contract which means any week I can have my hours dropped.
These new hours they want me to work on a Thursday and have said once I'm back to 18 hours I will have to work Thursday, Friday and Saturday but I have another part time job on a Monday and Thursday due to being promised full time hours in my current job which has never happend or will happen but that's another story!
I have spoken to my employer who says I have to work the Thursday and it's not their problem I can't work my other job.
My other job is cleaning holiday let's so Monday and Thursday are the change over days.
I feel very under appreciated by my employer and apart from handing my notice in does anyone have any advice please? Thank you xx

Just revert to the contract.

Check what your contract says about changing your working hours. But in any case if you’ve only been there a year, they could easily dismiss you anyway, so there’s not a lot you can do, especially as it sounds as though there is a genuine business change involved.

What does your contract say? Are these working days set or just what you have been doing?

@flowery @Finfintytint @KatherineJaneway I think my contract says I work 3 out of 7 days but I need to have another look for it. So do I basically need to keep 7 days a week free for my 3 day a week job incase they change my set working days? They have changed their 'business plan' 4 times in the year I have been there but this is the first time it has affected my days and my other job. Wish they would make their minds up as they could change the days again in a week or so nothing is guaranteed and 2 bosses higher up told me last week we would all be getting 40 hour contracts which is obviously a lie 😞

First of all check your contract and offer letter. It is unlikely they specified the days and hours you work but at least you will see on what basis they can change your hours / days.

Secondly I'd talk to your manager again, try and negotiate. They might say it's not their issue but you can say that your days and hours became custom and practice after a year of no changes. If that fails all you can do is start job hunting Sad It is a pity they are so short sighted.

Out of interest what changed specifically that you had to work the new days? Did they move someone else? Just thinking you might be able to swop with that person or agree a swap of some sorts.

@KatherineJaneway they have changed the days because they believe there is more demand for that day. The manager doesn't care unfortunately so I will have to get job hunting!
