I was called and asked if I can return to work early as someone has been fired otherwise they will have to find someone else which means I may loose my job and I will be working from home but my baby is only 4 months and I am nervous. Any advice

Why would you lose your job? They have a legal obligation to observe your Maternity Leave. You are still within the period where you are legally entitled to return to your same role and responsibilities. That doesn't change until 9months into Mat Leave.

Sorry - 26 weeks.

If you return after 26 weeks and they cannot offer you your original job, they have to offer you an equivalent with same benefits as if you hadn't had the mat leave.
