NHS/social services clinicians permanent WFH

curlywurl · 30/06/2020 19:01

Does anyone have experience of being a clinician based at home and going out for visits, meetings etc (pre covid)? I work for the NHS and would love to do this but my trust doesn't even seem to have a policy.

How do mileage payments work? Would you still have a designated base and be paid mileage above your home to base mileage?
Do work supply any extra equipment?
Are there any implications on home insurance or Council tax etc?

Any advice would be great. Being home based and going out for visits is currently working well for me so I plan to ask if I can continue. I'm just wondering if there are downsides and issues I haven't thought of.
