How often do military doctors move?

My DH is a GP doctor. He wants to join the army. However, I am concerned about having to move frequently. I know regular army have to move with no exception. Are doctors in the army exempt from moving often, provided they go for exercise at least six months in a couple of years? I would have to put an end to my career if DH kept having to move. Any army doctors in here?

Doctors are regular Army, they move pretty frequently although this varies depending upon their postings and may have regular exercises, courses and deployments. You do have the option for your DH to be "married unaccompanied" if you want to stay in one location but this clearly means plenty of time apart.

Generally speaking, move every 2-3 years, sometimes more, sometimes less, could be anywhere, UK or overseas. Sometimes you know well in advance, sometimes you know you^^ are moving but no idea where until a few weeks before - standard forces life! Travel and money are good, but it's to the detriment of things you otherwise take for granted - career, family support etc

As a trailing spouse you will need a high degree of flexibility and an understanding that your own needs and that of your family very rarely enter the military equation, it's not just the patients who are a priority but also the RAF/Army/Navy. Holding down a career of your own will be challenging.

I would suggest locum work in a local forces medical centre to get a feel for the job and may be working with reserves.
