I'm a care assistant in my home CCTV camera's are everywhere, when they were first installed we were told it was to protect the staff as levels of falls are high, however they have been in for a year now and they have never been used for this purpose. The regional manager watches whilst at home and phones in saying do this now or do that although we are working hard it's never enough it's like being in the big brother house! Is this legal?

Yes it is perfectly legal.

They should have a policy you can access that lays out its use and the reasons for the use.
Who can monitor it and why. How data stored and kept safe and for how long and how employees can find out what is held about them. How they comply with GDPR etc.
This may help you.

Ask for their policy.

Thank you for your reply I spoke to a family member after I posted who is a solicitor, and they said similar to your good self, however the procedure that should of been followed has not and new employees was not made aware that cameras are watching them Confused
