On Secondment - Redundancy Possible

Hello,

Has anyone ever been on a secondment to a more senior role than their previous one and then been put at risk of redundancy. What happened?

Potentially in this situation and trying to understand where I stand. Really don't want to lose the secondment role I am doing (plan originally was for it be made permanent) but now really not sure what is going to happen. Just looking for anyone who might have been in any similar circumstances or know what the process is.

Just to add, it's also possible that my previous role is also going to be put at risk!

I was a maternity cover for someone whose role was at risk. However my original role wasn't. I wasn't personally put at risk - if the person whose job I was covering had gone then I was told I would go back to my original role. In the end she wasn't made redundant so I stayed in my secondment.

Does your secondment agreement cover anything about this? Under what circumstances do you/can you return to your substantive role?

I need to find my original letter, my secondment has been extended 3 times so far and each of the extension letters simply state that I will return to my original role as of X date when my secondment ends. I'm pretty sure my orignal letter said something similar as well.
