Furlough query

My friend was de furloughed a few weeks ago but didn't receive any official communication (just agreed to go back via text).

They asked for a letter to confirm they were no longer furloughed and a couple of days later were told they were being furloughed again.

Does anyone know if you can be furloughed more than once and also does this sound a bit suspicious? They were the only person asked to return from the workforce.

I'm not sure of the exact circumstances as it's her personal business re income but she mentioned she was getting higher tax credits when she was furloughed at first and they have continued so thinking it could be the company were still claiming furlough money from the government for her.

She's concerned she's rocked the boat by asking for a de furlough letter and she's worried they'll try to get rid of her so would be good to know if their practices sound dodgy.

Yes you can certainly be furloughed more than once.

No you don’t specifically need a de furlough letter when you come back.

If she thinks her company have been claiming furlough funding for her when she was working she can report them for fraud.

Key point is that when she was back working she has to have been paid at 100%, whilst on furlough she will have been paid 80% (unless they were topping up).
