How does one find childcare for an interview day? I have no family around and my friends all work...HELP!

Have you tried school/playgroup/neighbours ? Where do you live, is there a college nearby, a studnet on a childcare or teaching course.. Someone must be able to recommend someone.

Some childminders provide occasional care (I do). There would be a minimal charge but worth ringing around. Good Luck

When I went for an interview after relocating 300 miles and knowing no one, I put my two into the Safeway creche for an hour and a half, and crossed my fingers it would work out, which it did! Don't know whether Morrisons have kept on the creche.

Good luck for the interview!

Congratulations on getting the job - well done!

I've used CMs and nursery and come to the conclusion that CMs are best for babies, nurseries for toddlers. But hey, wtf do I know?

more than I do if your child has made it to toddle-dom. Mine is only 4 months...only going to do two days...but torn about leaving him in nursery. But the job will allow me to earn enough to stay home for another year, so two days is an ok compromise...I think.

For a 4 month old, I prefer a childminder. The atmosphere is a bit more like being at home. and 4 month olds don't really need stimulation like a 3 year old does.

I like nurseries around about 18-24 months. But not 4 months.

Just my opinion. I'm sure someone will come along and tell us about their fab nursery.
