Has anyone successfully left the law?

And what did you do next?

I work for a city firm and am looking to do something totally different - but I don’t know what. I’ve been in (corporate) law for about 10 years and not a partner / not bothered about trying to become one either!!

It would need to be in London and the pay would have to not be terrible.

I only know people who have gone in house but I want a complete change. Have ruled out teaching... for now!

Yes me! Think...banking lawyer who went to work on a deal team at a bank, or corporate lawyer who started a venture capital fund. It was done through contacts and networking. I had some extra skills and knowledge that were needed as well around ESG/sustainability/compliance and reporting.

I was still in the same general ballpark of my legal experience though I went from the legal to the business side - you say you want a complete change so I don't know how useful this is for you!
