Apologies already if this is long winded and results in sorry you can’t help! (And spelling, punctuation etc)
So I returned to work two weeks ago (nearly) and get a hourly wage normally, therefore, I was expecting at least one weeks wage this month to be paid into my bank tomorrow. I have received my wage slip about an hour ago and it says I’m getting paid nothing. I then messaged a work colleague who was on maternity two years ago to ask about her pay her response was this: I got Head teacher to ring as I didn’t want to speak to Head office (private education) as I returned mid month and didn’t get paid either. They said cut off to get paid was 25th (for admin to inform them who worked what etc) but we get paid 1st - end of month.
My response ‘oh so should I call them and nag to get it paid this month or just expect the two weeks extra next week’
Her response ‘you can try but I never got it paid because they pay 1st-30th not in between.’
My mind is blown, I know I know they haven’t responded to my email I’ve sent so I should probably wait. However, this isn’t legal right?
I’m more miffed at not being paid whilst everyone is working one day a week and wfh the rest of the time and I worked full time one to one (as only one child is coming in) because I’ve had ‘months off work’ 🙄. Then I haven’t been paid a penny.
So before I call head office tomorrow to prepare for my massive rant can someone reassure me that I should be paid for the work I’ve done?
It is usually ‘hourly wage’ in respect to you work X many hours and get paid X amount with 13 weeks annual leave so same each month.
