I'm considering applying for a job as a HCA in this field. It would be operating department based or ward based. I've got no healthcare experience (apart from informal work experience in a hospital many years ago, unrelated field) although all my immediate family work or have worked in healthcare. Does anyone work in this area and if so could you tell me what are the most challenging aspects of the role? And how this varies depending on being ward based or operating department based?
