Bullied as temp staff

I work as a temp in a government job and the resident bully is picking on me badly( I have been told I’m the 6th person ).I’ve been there two months and was due to work there until the end of the year.

Staff is 2/3rds down and my role has changed beyond recognition . We work as a team in pairs in a serious environment .

Anyway this person embarrasses/ humiliates me. He patronises me tells me to calm down, says I’m not as capable as my . Collegue. He tells me to do stuff for him , sets me tasks, then does them himself and then tells me off for not doing it. He has mood swings and gets me into troubling situations .

I ended up crying and top boss has asked me what I want to do . I can make a formal complaint or leave it . If I don’t formally complain I have to work with him.
I am dreading going in and feel scared of him. He was angry when I cried and I had to go home.

Can I refuse to work with him ? I got told I had to , but he embarrasses me and blocks my job in front of the TOP bosses. This is who he is and is nothing I can sort out .

I appreciate I have no rights as a temp but like everyone I need the money .

Make a formal complaint, and also report him and his conduct to your temp agency.

I was in a similar situation once and I told him very loudly to his face - just because I'm here on a temporary contract doesn't give you the right to speak to me like that. I dumped a huge pile of filing on the floor in front of him and walked out right there and then in front of everyone.

Don't stand for it. Men like that need to be called out. Stand up straight and give it to him both barrels.

You'll feel much better after.

Agree, make a formal complaint. I would have walked out by now. Nobody deserves to be treated like that.
