Key worker anxiety help/advice

Hi, So I’m technically not a key worker at this minute but due to start a role in the next week... I have been in the process of getting this job for 6 months and unluckily due to start in the middle of the covid-19 crisis.

My issue is I have anxiety which I am currently on medication for, and at the moment as I’m sure everyone is, I am really suffering with it. I live in a household with multiple at risk family members, which is constantly worrying me.

I’ve voiced my opinion to the recruiters at my new role and mentioned the fact that I would be putting my family at risk, which I am not prepared to do, and they have basically said that I start or I don’t and don’t get the role (in nicer words) I explained I feel like it’s an impossible position to be in at the moment.

I’m in a predicament as I would love to start this job as it’s something I’ve worked really hard for, but with my anxiety and the risks at the moment i just don’t know what todo. This role is not in healthcare but will involve going into peoples homes.

I’ve come on here just to see if anyone has any advice? Or any help with what todo? Or if anyone is in a similar boat? I’m literally tied up in knots about it, would really appreciate it 😩😩😩

I’d leave it, risking your family members health isn’t worth it. Opportunity will come along again at the right time.
