Parental leave query

I am thinking of taking parental leave later in the year to support DC with a transition. Is it possible to take 4 weeks for one child and 4 weeks for another straight after? I havent taken any yet but am aware 4 weeks is the yearly maximum you can take. Does anyone have experience? Gov.uk just had the basics.

It's 4 weeks for each child. There's nothing in the guidance to say you can't take it as an 8 week block so I would assume that's fine.

Thanks @KillerofMen I couldn't see anything either. I just wondered if anybody had done it.

Be aware that your employer does not have to agree to those dates and if they have good business reasons to, can defer your leave for up to 6 months

So it would be a good idea to have a conversation with them now to see if they would be amenable.

I took 3 but I think a lot of people would struggle to take 8 weeks unpaid leave.

Thanks @Comefromaway I plan on discussing it early but want to know what is possible before I ask.
