and really excited about it! Ds is 2y9m and I'm goign back pt. Thing I need reassurance about is his transition from having mummy all the time to not. I am already stat=rting to feel guilty about it despite the fact that he's onyl gonna be in childcare for three afternoons a week as dh has him in the mornings. And it's almost like he's sensing something because he has been very demanding of me for the last week and incredibly clingy.

Am I going to cope??

YOU WILL BE FINE!!!!!!!!! though it might help if you take a packet of tissues in with you, only just in case mind, not that you will have fit of the tears but just in case. most toddlers are sensitive to change, would it help him if you visited the childcare setting with him and sat to one side, so that he was playing with others by himself but knew that you were there, as a kind of comfort??

fwiw i have been back at work for two years, i went back ft at first but will freely admit that i couldn't cope with being away from dd so much. i am back pt (well, 26hrs!) and still miss her but try and cope with it by thinking of it as my wages help put food in her belly.

i am returning to work this week dreading it as well..dd going to cm for 2 days and with her nanny other 2 days..dd is 11 months old and the great thing about going to cm is that itis great for their social skills to mix with other children, that is what is keeping me going anyway!
