Length of service calculation for redundancy pay

Should the length of service include the statutory notice period?

xperthr.co.uk says yes but my HR department say no.

Thanks Flowery I sent her the relevant section from xpert hr and citizens advice and she’s revised the calculation. Bit of a worry though she’s the BP and she’d stood her ground initially. I wish I’d directed her straight to the employment rights act s145, that would have made her head explode!
