Anyone in financial services use Unite Union?

Just that really.

I work in the financial services industry and looking at joining a union to gain some further protection at work, namely because I'm pregnant and my company is known for being quite discriminatory with pregnant women when it comes to annual leave/maternity leave/flexible working etc.

No one at work is a part of union (that I know of or is open about it) and some online browsing seems to point toward Unite as being the best union for those in financial services.

Has anyone had any experience with them or can vouch that they would be the best placed for my line of work?

Unite are shit and usually misogynists. Only join if they have recognition in your workplace.

Unison is the best union imo but when i was in financial services I was in GMB.

Use this tool, it asks you questions about your circumstances and suggests the most relevant union:

I was made redundant on return from maternity leave. Had been a member of Unite for years.
Got ZERO help from them. They just shrugged and said my workplace had a habit of doing that and that in their experience it was impossible to improve the redundancy package on offer.
Save your money, put it towards an employment lawyer if you need one.
