Any idea anyone? I understand why many places aren't hiring at the moment but wondered if there is somewhere obvious I could look that I'm missing.

Supermarket?
Delivery driver?

Looneytune253 · 05/04/2020 15:52

Supermarkets are taking anyone on

Bluebooby · 05/04/2020 16:18

Oh sorry forgot to say I am in the shielded group. Only found out on Friday. My local Tesco is hiring. If I get desperate I might still apply as until now I haven't been shielding because I didn't know I was supposed to.

Eh? So if you're in the shielded group you won't be going anywhere? No point in job hunting if u can't leave the house

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 05/04/2020 19:22

I suppose your only option is something you can do from home like people per hour

Bluebooby · 05/04/2020 19:26

@Looneytune253 I was hoping to find something I could do from home. Admin or something, I don't know. I have a laptop. I will check out peopleperhour, thank you @CloudsCanLookLikeSheep

Delivery/warehouse companies and the care sectors are both still recruiting

This site is easy to use since you just enter your location and type of job:

  1. Try www.robwilliamsassessment.co.uk/business-psychologist-jobs-london/warehouse-supervisor-jobs/ for delivery and warehouse jobs

  2. Try www.robwilliamsassessment.co.uk/business-psychologist-jobs-london/care-assistant-jobs/ for care sector jobs

Hope that useful!

Wait until you're not in isolation

Bluebooby · 05/04/2020 19:59

Thank you for those links @williams46. @bigchris I'm in the shielded group and they recommend not leaving the house at all for 12 weeks!! That's a really long time to wait but maybe I'll have to. I'll check out all the links from pp's and see if I can find anything.

I’ve seen loads of things I could apply for from home but unfortunately DH has taken over the home Office so I could only work in the kitchen, which isn’t possible when dealing with customers.
Look on Reed or similar

Bluebooby · 05/04/2020 21:23

Really, that's very positive! I haven't actually looked on reed for some reason! Completely forgot it existed. Thank you! Sorry you can't get space to work yourself. I haven't actually thought about how I'll manage that with DD around all day but hopefully I'll figure it out.

My business closed up over night because of Covid19 and as I'm pregnant I'm trying to stay out of certain workplaces that might make it easier to spread so I've been looking to work from home. I applied for a bunch of working from home jobs through indeed. Heard back from two and been offered a job with one starting tomorrow. The job is with Webhelp so have a look on their website, I believe its the only job they have on there. Sounds like they have multiple contracts so worth looking into. Have a search on indeed for homeworking jobs and just go through them to see which ones are actually remote working, and which ones have said that one of their benefits is the potential to work from home. Good luck!

@Sarahlaneyuk If you found sending a few pics embarrassing I can only imagine how you'll get on with being a cam girl.
