My DH is a security guard (looking after building and building sites) he still has to go to work everyday been told even if we go on full lockdown he still has to go in as he has to make sure noone breaks in!! But no one says they are essential or key workers!!!

I guess they can't list every job that is essential or a key worker and security and safety on an unoccupied building site is something that could come under the scope of essential.

Does he have concerns about them being able to apply social distancing safety measures for him?

The night guard is a 70+ year old gent this is why I am concerned but now everyone apart from security have be put on paid leave as of yesterday there are 3 men covering the site 24/7 between them

I suppose they're only essential/key workers to the owner of the business.

Security guards have recently got essential worker status.

If there are only 3 of them I imagine social distancing won't be a problem so as jobs go its pretty low risk. I would be ok with it, as a key worker in an industry where social distancing is really really difficult
