Can a pay cut be worth it?

Anyone taken a pay cut and moved jobs and lived to regret it or be glad of? Hours and company is the same, would be about a 30% decrease in salary. Miserable where I am, overlooked for projects and promotion, always being promised there’s something in mind for me that never appears. I have anxiety from it. Other job could of been written for me but no further prospects in terms of progression. Three kids, 10, 7 and 4. Do have a partner however I am the breadwinner by a long shot. Just wondered if anyone else had been in a similar situation and had any good or bad experiences to share?

Yep. Took a pay cut to go back to a previous employer because liked atmosphere more . Also the breadwinner by far. As king as you’ll not be bored then go for it. If you fear the boredom maybe not ( I was lucky as the lower paid job is really wide ranging and different for each new project)
