Furloughed but expected to wfh

I have been furloughed but am working from home. I was set up with laptop but that was given to so.eone else as I had alternative pc.

Have been in email contact with MD and two Directors during this time.so not able to deny I am working.

Myself and another colleague have raised concerns about this and have been told it is so they can raise enough money from job retention scheme to keep paying employees 100% and as claim won't be submitted to HMRC until end of April they may not claim for us.

Morally and legally this is wrong. I would quite happily take 50% payout so cleaners etc could get full pay..The money is not my worry. My worry is that should the time.come and there are redundancies I would be at risk.

Any suggestions?.Our MD is pretty unhinged so need to tread carefully.

TARSCOUT - I work in a much more low key environment but I’ve been furloughed but asked to keep wfh (not full time but lots of small jobs) - I can’t help feeling that it is morally wrong for the government to be paying our wages but my boss to be asking me (and colleagues) to work. However, there is a part of me which understands that businesses are just trying to stay afloat.

Sorry I can’t offer advice on your situation TARSCOUT but I do hope things have improved.

Just found this again. As an update, my colleague and I just said that we weren't doing it. We were not put through as being furloughed.

MD is still unhinged tho!
