I’m Library assistant in a secondary school. My work can mostly only be carried out on site. If the government enforced school closures what happens wrt my pay? Do I get anything? My line manager and her line manager have no clue. Help, I’m panicking that we’re all going to be sent home in the next couple of weeks and I won’t be paid at all!

If it's a community school yes, you'll be paid as usual, I'm sure.

Academies can sometimes be off the wall with regard to their staff but I'd expect staff to be paid there too.

I’m support staff at a primary school. We were expecting around 100 kids today, around 12 turned up so I wasn’t needed. I’m on contracted hours, no-one seems to know if us support staff will be paid at all, or wether we’ll just be paid for the days/hrs we’re needed to come in. Our local council pays our wages.

I'm also support staff in a primary school. We were told last week that if school closed we would be paid to work from home. We have a lust of tasks to do. As it happens, I am in a vulnerable group so have been told not to go to work (there is a rota to care for children of keyworkers), but I have worked several hours at home today and will continue to do so as long as the situation lasts. Our MAT has said we will get full pay.

Yeah I’m now on a rota to go in periodically and supposed to be working from home the rest of the time so being paid. Thanks to the people who replied, it has been a confusing couple of weeks but glad things are getting clearer now.
