DS has just been made "jobless" due to the company he works for collapsing/going into liquidation.
He understands that there will be no redundancy payments as there is nothing, if he is entitled to anything it will be ages before he gets it.

He should be entitled to Universal Credit.

He may be entitled to a payment from the Govt's Redundancy Payments Service (administered by Insolvency Service) - he should ask the Liquidator about that. It would be a lump sum as pay in lieu of notice and redundancy pyt (if entitled) and holiday pay, so not a regular income replacement, but if he is entitled to anything he'd get paid fairly quickly.

The CN should come from the Liquidator.

Claim universal credit via www.gov.uk

He will receive an appointment to attend job centre, he will need to take identification, CV, P45 and he should be able to claim contributions based job seekers payments
