Self employed notice?

I Im self employed and work for a care company I've got another job as I'm not happy but I'm not sure if I have to give notice or not? I've never signed a contract and to be honest they take the mick with the hours that they keep giving me. Can anyone give me any advice?

Definitely self employed, I can tell them I'm not doing the hours, but again when I've got a rota today I've been put in the hours I can't do, so it just ends up me having to call every week to tell them to take me off.

OP, are most of the following true?

they’re in business for themselves, are responsible for the success or failure of their business and can make a loss or a profit
they can decide what work they do and when, where or how to do it
they can hire someone else to do the work
they’re responsible for fixing any unsatisfactory work in their own time
their employer agrees a fixed price for their work - it doesn’t depend on how long the job takes to finish
they use their own money to buy business assets, cover running costs, and provide tools and equipment for their work
they can work for more than one client

If not, then you're not self employed.

It doesn't sound like you follow the rules for self-employment under IR35 as other posters have stated.
If you don't have a contact or SLA in place, then there doesn't appear to be a proper contractual agreement in place either way,

I imagine your employment status would be ‘worker’ OP. You’re not genuinely self-employed in the circumstances/role you describe, whatever your employer says.

You don’t need to give notice. And you’re probably entitled to quite a lot of holiday pay...
