How long to wait for shortlisting

Hi guys...

I have recently applied for an admin job in a local school... the closing date was Monday 3pm. I know it's only Wednesday today but how long do they usually take to shortlist? Does anyone have any experience in the process.

Also the job advertisement did not give any interview dates either.

On average I would say about a week to shortlist, but it can be much longer for a variety of reasons, admin jobs can be very popular meaning there are a lot of applications to go through, or the manager doing the shortlisting can have other commitments or leave etc. So I would try and relax until at least this time next week, difficult as it is!
