Becoming a funeral celebrant

Hi can anyone give me some advice on where to start looking into this as a career.

I've been told I have the right personality for the role and with a tv production and drama performance background I think I could bring some experience to the role.

I am looking at courses - which are best - online or in person - I tend to think in person as it would be good to build up a network of contacts.

I'd also like to offer myself up for some work experience at local funeral directors but not sure if they would be in to this. It would give me an idea of the business and how to approach things.

I've also heard it's terribly competitive and hard to get started again I'd appreciate some advice.

I'm based in Manchester so if anyone who is not from round here would prefer to reply as I don't want anyone to think I'm out for their patch if I go for it!

Thanks in advance,

Jane
