Should I feel guilty about returning to work early?

I'm currently pregnant with my second child and I will be getting married in August 2021. However, as I changed jobs before I knew I was pregnant it means that I won't get statutory maternity pay only maternity allowance. With a mortgage and childcare costs (I work in a nursery so it is discounted) plus a wedding I can't really afford to take much maternity leave so I might have to return to work after 3 months off. I've heard people at work say "they don't agree with sending babies at 3 months to nursery" but I don't know what else to do as me and my partner are not entitled to anything that could help us. Have anyone returned to work so early after giving birth?

Don't feel guilty.. You do what you need to do!

Yes of course, women all over the world do it! Absolutely normal in the US, for example.

Sorry that your maternity pay situation is not ideal. No need to spend lots on your wedding though if it doesn't suit you! Lots and lots of ways to have an amazing wedding without spending much!

I went back after 4 months but that was because MIL said she'd look after dd she did 2months and decided it was too much so she's at a childminders now.. I had a total melt down about this but she loves it and I personally think she's learning new things quicker due to the interactions she has.. which is probably more than if I was looking after her. Emotionally it's hard but needs must and she is happy and that's all that counts!
