I have an interview next week for a job in a small department store. I have never worked in retail before and stated this on my CV but I have still managed to get an interview, so far so good.
Any advice on questions they may ask would be much appreciated.

Do some research on the company, do they have an ethos? you maybe asked that. I expect you will be asked about customer service, can you think of a time when you have shown excellent customer service? it does not have to be related to the line of work as long as it is a transferable skill. It is important to be friendly and approachable in retail so try and let this come across in the interview. Also don't be afraid to ask them to repeat the question especially if you feel you have gone off track and accept water if offered as sometimes you just need to take a breath and a sip of water to calm your nerves.
