Redundancy pay etc

I've been made redundant today as the company I worked for has gone in to liquidation. Very upset, I knew business was though but we were making some adjustments so thought we would pull through.
So the bottom line is I'm not getting paid tomorrow and will have to claim any outstanding wages and redundancy pay from the government. Has anyone got any experience/advice of this?

Apply for universal credit contributions based job seekers now via www.gov.uk. It's not back dated.
Update CV
Start applying for jobs

Your redundancy pay is not taken into account for a certain time period

Good luck

Yes, this happened to my husband last summer. Bit of a shock.

Apply for job seekers online ASAP as you can't backdate any claim. Make an appointment at the job centre and they will help you with CV writing etc.

The liquidator will get in touch with all employees with details of how to claim basic statutory redundancy payment from the government. They will need to provide you with a special code in order to submit a claim. It took about a month for the liquidator to send us the code and then another month to receive the money from the government.

Good luck. I sympathise.

Thank you for your replies. Undies, did your husband got everything he was owed?
