Becoming a childminder Scotland

Hey ladies.

Wondering if anyone can help me. I recently gained my HNC childhood practice with the intentions of working in a local authority nursery but the idea of child minding has always been an interest of mine too.

Wondering how I go about becoming a childminder and the step needed to become one on scotland if anyone can tell me where to start it would be appreciated.

Thanks x

Start here for legal requirements. Is your home suitable?

Hi thanks for your reply.

Yes I own my house and any further requirements needed I am willing to do 😊

Well, that's a good start. :) There's loads to read on the link, and you'll also need to look into registering as self employed with HMRC. Also worth contacting the Childminders Association for up to date contract advice, how to get parents to pay up etc. Best of luck with your new business!
