Tribunal witness... Cancelled?

I've been called as a witness for an employment tribunal but I have heard from the defendant that they have accepted a settlement and I no longer need to attend.

Should I have heard something from the court?? I don't want to just not turn up with no formal notification.

would you have been testifying in the defendant's favour? certainly there is a chance that in some circumstances you shouldn't accept the defendant's word for it. presumably there is a phone number on the paperwork you have received? ring up and check.

I'd call the court - don't take anyone's word on this.

Get back to who or what body called you. I assume you have a letter or contact? It’s probably a delay in the admin.

Well I called and they confirmed it is the person who called you as witness whose responsibility it is to advise you not to attend just in case anyone is interested (in my case it was the defendant!)
