Statutory Sick Pay

If I work 3 days per week on varying days, and need two weeks off sick for an operation. Will I not be paid for the first week? As it's the first 3 days you don't get SSP?

Yup. Unless you've had a previous absence of at least 4 (calendar) days in the 8 weeks beforehand, in which case the absences would link and you'd get SSP from the start of the second absence.

You are not paid for the first three working days.

As your week is 3 days then you will get nothing for the first week.

Thank you both. I thought so, but wanted to check as it's been a while since I took any sick days (15 years!)
