My boss called yesterday to find out how long I have planning off for maternity leave as they want to start advertising for a mat leave replacement at the end of the month.

I’m 16 weeks pregnant and I had a loss this year at 22 weeks so obviously It’s a sensitive time for me.

I work in a competitive sales environment and I’m shitting myself my job role will be shared with my replacement when I get back, but I see my job needs to be the same if I return after 6 months off.

Does the above sound correct and as it should be and I’m just being extra sensitive?

No they should not be hassling you. You didnt even need to inform them until you are 25 weeks pregnant. They should assume you are taking a full year off (have you even thought about how long to take?) and you only need to tell them otherwise if you are coming back earlier than that.
