Hi just looking for some advise, basically I’m a supervisor but I have a new manager who has also employed another supervisor and ever since I have been very slowly pushed out and excluded, he gives her all the shifts she likes and he just plops me anywhere, anyway he I suffer from bad anxiety but it has never affected my work but today when I was speaking to said manager I advised i wanted to go back to my full contract hours as I had reduced them due to anxiety and issues from a previous boss who ended up getting the sack for bad management, the new manager questioned my mental health and stated that he doesn’t think I’m ready to go back to my full contract as I seem very stressed ? Which I absolutely am not, I’m just sick of him undermining me and pushing me to the side, is this even allowed to comment on my mental health, I have openly talked about my mental health and I declared it on the health questionnaire when I started this job 15 years ago, he just kept saying I don’t think you are ready I told him only myself and my doctor can make that decision
What to do next ?

I have no idea what was originally negotiated and any time scales.

Therefore it is best to make an official request to return full time and get the doctor to evidence your fitness to work. The manager does need to ensure you are ready to return but he can't really oppose what the doctor says.

Does the doctor need to specify anything, specific reasonable adjustments, breaks, time to discuss issues etc. If so ensure the Doctor records this so everything is clear.
The manager will need to check on you and gauge where any stress may be caused. You need to consider how this is done so it doesn't cause additional pressure itself.

Hi thanks for replying I’m already back at work doing 24 hours doctor signed me back last year but district manager allowed me to do reduced hours due to their failure to protect my mental health with the last boss, so now I’m ready to go back to working the extra shift but he is using my mental health against me it feels

Have you broached the subject of the unfair allocation of shifts?
