Competency based application form

I am currently filling out an application for the civil service and am struggling with the two competencies ask for which are Delivering at Pace and Communicating and Influencing. I would just like some feedback on my examples please as have been out of the workplace for 10(!) years now and my recent examples are all based on voluntary work.

Delivering at Pace:
The only recent example I can think of for this is organising the school Christmas Fayre Blush. We had an hour after school lunches were finished to set the hall up, direct stall holders to their stalls, set our own internal stalls up and make sure all our stalls had the correct money and I coordinated this to make sure everything was set up for opening. Is this an ok example? The only other one I really have from my past work experience is ensuring all paperwork for completing house sales and purchases was done on time, but that was over 10 years ago, what one should I use?

Communicating and Influencing
I am a facilitator for the Freedom Programme, so I thought I could use how I deliver the material to a group of ladies as an example for this.

Thanks if you've got this far, my head is all over the place with this!

I would aim to use key words from the competency in your statement

@Isleepinahedgefund that's so incredibly kind of you, thank you! I think I may have rambled a bit in them.
