Pregnancy related sickness

Hi there, just looking for some advise and guidance really

I’m pregnant for the first time and over the moon. I told work about it early on (I was 4 weeks, now I am closer to 6). I told them as I will need time out for a few extra tests and they were great about it . Said congrats and thanked me for telling them.
I am 6 weeks on Saturday and my morning sickness has started already. I keep running to the toilet , just feel and look like complete poop .
I work for the NHS and they are really good at my place , but I’m very anxious about time off.
I’m useless with protocols , I know nothing about them and just need some friendly advise if you have experience personally or if you’re generally knowledgeable!
None of my family know yet so I’m feeling very alone .
I’m going to have to call in today due to being so poorly and I’m hoping they’ll be ok.

I guess question is can you get disciplined or is pregnancy related sickness seen differently ?

Pregnancy related illness is still recorded but it is treated separately form usual sickness.

They may call you in for a disciplinary depending on their policy and the trigger point. But this is often just automatic before looking at the record. Do not worry if this happens, just ensure when you phone in you specific it is due to pregnancy,

Obviously any other illness, bug or injury is treated as normal.

I know this is old but thought I would comment.
Pregnancy related illness and considered as general illness until a few weeks before your due date (11 weeks I think), therefore if you were to be off work due to illness it would simply go down as 'sick pay'. Any appointments however have to be honoured, they may ask for proof, letters, texts from your GP etc. I also work for the Nhs and went through this. Your trust should have a policy if you look on the intranet x

So, pregnancy related sickness is treated the same for sick pay purposes but can't be counted for any absence management process or warnings type process so if it is pregnancy related make sure you always tell them

If you are absent due to pregnancy related sickness in the last I think 4 weeks before you start mat leave (it could be 6 sorry!) your mat leave starts automatically.
