Choosing a business name

I haven't worked for 5 years and would like to set up as a so,e trader with a small online business. I've looked on companies house register and the business name I have in mind doesn't appear there, nor on the link to sole traders. But there's a hairdresser and a bakery, both using the name, in two small towns in the UK. I don't want to start up and run into issues, but at the same time I'd really like to use the name I have in mind. Can I?

Is the domain name you want available?

Just add Ltd or something else at the end or beginning so its slightly different maybe.

Check they haven't trademarked the name

If they haven't - and you're nothing similar to a hairdressers or a bakery and you're not in the same area then crack on.

Domain names are available. Thanks for advice. I think I will crack on.
