Working and being a mum

I have 2 children under 2 and I'm expecting my third in the summer, I work full time but I'm really struggling, I'm struggling with childcare and everything that comes along with working and being a mum, I've had to take 4 days off in the past 2 weeks because of childcare issues and I know my employers judge me for it. I really want to quit my job and focus on my children but I don't know if that's wrong for me to do? My partner works 2 jobs and is more than happy for me to stay home but I'm worried about what everyone around me will say? Do I just stick it out or take some time off to focus on being a mum?

It's an entirely private choice. If you have the means then do what feels right for you and your family. Those who matter don't mind, and those who mind don't matter!

You have the right to request more flexible working hours from your boss if that would help. Worth speaking to your trade union rep. Might also be worth seeing what is available part time for you if only to keep some financial independence, it doesn't have to be one or the other necessarily.
