Thinking of career change to independent financial adviser. I am currently self employed and work from home in another business. I'm wondering what people's experience has been like re workload, earnings etc.

Can you sell? Can you network and find your own clients?
It’s a really important part of the job if you want to be successful

Selling is the least favourite part of my current business so it's probably not looking hopeful. Although my current sales are very niche. Do you mean online or in person or both?

Both
You will need to generate leads and also to sell your services. Possibly cold calling and/or approaching both people you know and complete strangers
Once you actually get in front on potential customers you will have to sell products to them
If you cant or don’t want to do all that then I don’t think it’s the job for you

From your description i dont think it sounds like me at all. I'd find that very draining. Back to the drawing board. Thanks!!

Maybe look into para planning instead, there’s little or no customer contact and no selling, It’s more technical but not as well paid
You do need quite a lot of training, usual route is admin in FS
