Hi there,
Have a Competency based interview next week. For a non-clinical role in the Education field. It involves a presentation. I am crap at interviews-especially selling myself. Any tips from anyone????

It's always ok to say at the start 'I'm a bit nervous' and take a few seconds to breath deeply and find some ease/calm.

Showing your passion or enthusiasm for the role/ field/ topic always helps.

As for the actual presentation, pictures and diagrams are always interesting. Don't just write on the slides what you are going to say out loud. Put the headline points or an image and then talk through the detail.

Good luck!

We have recently started a new trend In presenting which is give the key message I. The first sentence. I gave a presentation yesterday where I started by telling the audience what the two most important things where that I wanted them to know.

So if I ran out of time or got mixed up - I had delivered my key message first.
