Disciplinary warning

Is it a legal requirement to inform staff about a disciplinary meeting? My friend spoke rather harshly to her manager one stressful day who has since told her that he wanted to discuss her behaviour in a meeting with HR and her representative.

My friend who is a senior nurse for 10+ years has been worried sick about this meeting as she's never faced anything like this before. When she asked HR they've said the meeting is to discuss any concerns she has in her job

Well yes it is a legal requirement that if someone is subject to a disciplinary procedure and needs to attend a disciplinary hearing that may result in a warning, they are notified properly including details of the allegations so they can prepare a defence.

However it doesn’t sound like there’s any reason to think that’s what’s happening here. I’m sure if a decision is made to go down the disciplinary route your friend will be told.
