Social Care Assessor

Is anybody a social care assessor? Or works in the sector so can help me?

Would you recommend it as a job? Why/why not? What kind of person would the role suit? I'm thinking there are zero opportunities for career progression other than qualifying as a social worker, right? Does the role give you skills for sideways/upwards moves into other areas or is it too specialist? Is it a job where you are expected to do unpaid overtime (public sector)/ is it family friendly?
